The best advice someone entering this industry can get is simple…
Learn to be useful before trying to be important.
A lot of people come into this business chasing titles, access, status, and recognition. They want to be the manager, the producer, the tour manager, the executive. They want the position before they’ve learned the responsibility that comes with it.
But that’s not how the people who last get there.
The people most respected learned how to solve problems first. They became the person people could count on. They showed up early. They stayed late. They listened more than they talked. They figured out how to make the team better, not themselves more visible. That’s where real value comes from.
This industry has a way of sorting people out over time. The ones focused on looking important usually get exposed. The ones focused on being useful become indispensable. And once you’re indispensable, the opportunities tend to find you.
I’ve never seen a great career built on titles alone. I’ve seen a lot built on trust.
Stay Positive.
