Way back around 1981 my touring career started to get going. I had just moved back to Chicago and was working with Gary Gand when his sound company got the King Crimson Discipline tour. Gary asked me to go out on the tour for his sound company. We spent about 3 months crossing North America. At the time I didn’t really understand how lucky I was to be on tour with such an incredible band, Robert Fripp, Bill Buford, Tony Levin, and Adrian Belew.
Tonight I went to see Adrian and Tony joined by Steve Via and Danny Carey and their current project, BEAT. They’re playing the King Crimson music for the early 80’s.
Absolutely incredible, this kind of brings things full circle for me and reminds me how fortunate I’ve been in this musical journey and career.
