Which concert would you love to relive from the soundboard?

By Indigo Kretzschmar-May
Showco was the little company from Dallas that revolutionized live music. Founded in 1970, Showco invented the modern touring sound system—delivering crystal-clear, powerful audio to the world’s biggest acts and changing the concert experience forever.
My name is Indigo Kretzschmar-May, and I grew up surrounded by Showco’s legacy. My father, Donnie “DK” Kretzschmar, was a Showco sound engineer and a Lynyrd Skynyrd plane crash survivor. From a young age, I was immersed in the stories, artifacts, and camaraderie of the crew that became a family—and helped shape music history behind the scenes.
Showco Archives began as my personal project to organize my father’s collection, but quickly grew into a mission to preserve the full story of Showco. The archive now spans thousands of unique items: meticulously cataloged tour itineraries, inter-office memos, stage plots, rare photos, vintage crew apparel, and more. Click here for the Showco shop
This living archive is dedicated to honoring the unsung heroes of live music, providing a resource for alumni, industry professionals, and fans, and securing Showco’s recognition as a true Dallas original and a transformative force in music history.
“Showco gave me my start in the touring industry. Something I will always be thankful for and never forget” mj
